I haven’t written a single goddamned word this week.
Not a single one.
It wasn’t for lack of wanting. It was simply a matter of finding the time.
I’ve had two job interviews this week, my regular day job with several upcoming deadlines, overtime at work covering for two co-workers who were out all week, and a third job interview tomorrow which is requiring me to fly across the country (I am typing this on my laptop in the Seattle airport as we speak).
So, I won’t be too hard on myself for not writing anything this week. I’ve had a crazy, hectic, whirlwind of a week. Simply finding the time to do my laundry was a chore this week!
BUT! I am sitting in the airport. I have a fully charged laptop and I am hooked up to a power outlet. I have one hour to kill before my flight and then I’ve got a 5.5 hour flight ahead of me! Writing will happen! The word count will add up! I am not giving up on Camp NaNoWriMo, for better or for worse.
I forgot to mention that my husband and I are also planning our wedding reception, which will occur later this month. We eloped in December but are having a reception for our friends and family on April 28th. This means I’ve also spent the last week coordinating with our caterer, ordering reception decorations, coordinating travel and hotel options for friends and family members, and making sure the last minute details are taken care of before the big event. So no, I feel no shame about not writing anything this week.
